Reflections of AED 200

1. In the beginning I wasn’t sure what to expect because I had never taken an art class before but I was very impressed with the things I did and learned in this class.

2. Art is what you make of it. I thought art was just shapes and colors but art can be anything. You can make anything into art from colors and paints to making things out of woods and metals.

3. I didn’t have a favorite artist in my initial post but looking now I would have to say some of the more famous artists like Leonardo DeVinci and Michaelangelo would have to be some of my favorites now.

4. I was nervous about taking an online class before because I had never taken one before but after taking it I realized its not to bad and if I wasn’t graduating after this semester I would consider taking a lot more if it was possible.

Reflection of an Art Exhibit

I chose the project Anthropology in Art by Sheldon Anderson. I selected this exhibit because when I looked over it I found it very interesting and I thought that I would like it. I found it hard to right a critique on an art exhibit itself. From watching the videos and going through this class I don’t feel that I have enough knowledge of art to be able to give my critique and have it mean something. I also am not big on critiquing my peers work because he worked hard to put this exhibit together and being a student my self I don’t feel I have enough knowledge to do so. I would like to read the critique about my exhibit because I would like to know if my peers enjoyed it or not. On a scale from 1-10 I would probably rate my article about 6 because even though I wrote it I feel I don’t have enough knowledge of art to write a really good article on an exhibit. Overall I really did enjoy working on this project because it gave me a whole new perspective on the art world.

Module 15: Video Review

1. In the Greenberg on Pollock: An Interview by T.J. Clark they just about Clarks interview with Jackson Pollock and background about his career. In Jackson Pollock: Michael Fried and T.J. Clark in Conversation these two talked about Pollock’s paintings and also talked about their views on them.
2. Yes they both related to the project because they discussed the ideas an work that went into creating works of art.
3.  They were both good. I think that they both added depth to my understanding of art criticism.

Art Exhibit Process Reflection

My experience creating an art exhibit was pretty fun. I think it was fun to me because I chose art work that I liked and enjoyed and with that it made it easier to do. The exhibit itself took a lot of time finding the art and then putting it in the order that I found suitable for my audience. I chose to keep works of art together that certain artists did because each artist had their own uniques style. I thought this was a good idea because someone could go from seeing one artists work of art and than move on to the next and see a completely different type of style but stay with the same theme. All in all I had a lot of fun creating my exhibit and I feel it is very easy to view and understand by any one who may look at it.
