Albright-Knox Art Gallery

A)  The pieces of art work that made an impression on me where Second Means Of Egress by Sarah Sze and the Untitled work by Rachel Whiteread. These two works of art made an impression on me because I found them really similar. I found these two works of art to both look a lot like stair cases. I found it really cool of the artists did this and had very similar ideas and most likely didn't communicate about this what so ever.

B)  I felt a connection with Mark Fox's Untitled work and Jiri Kolar's Cycladic Heads. I chose these because in Mark Fox's art work it has a lot of colors and is very unique. I personally enjoy unique and different and feel like I'm the same way and that is why I liked Fox's work. I liked Kolar's work because when I see it I think of sports manly the Olympics and the podiums that the winners stand on when receiving there medals.

C)  I would like to know more about Nancy Rubin's Drawing and Daniel Zeller's Occupational Hazard. I want to know more about Rubin's work of art because even though it is a drawing it looks lke a big metal sheet, and I wanted to know what she is trying to express with this work of art. In Zeller's work, I like the name Occupational Hazard but I don't see where the name comes from. To me it looks like footprints in sand on a beach and I would like to know where Zeller sees or got the name Occupational Hazard from.

  1. You picked some very beautiful pieces from the gallery. The stair one is unique and very interesting that the artists probably did not know each other. They expressed it with different matierals.
